Alternative Energy Southeast, Inc. (AES) is a Georgia company that brings solar power within everyone’s reach, so homeowners and businesses can reduce their carbon footprint while saving money. For 14 years, AES has been led by a team of expert individuals having rich experience and certifications in solar power analysis, design, and installation.

At the company’s helm is the Founder, CEO, and President Montana Busch, a licensed master electrician and dual-NABCEP certified solar professional. His background gives AES an exceptional insight into project design and quality assurance. Busch is also an advocate for the global adoption of clean energy.

“Our goal is to help homeowners and businesses make the best use of solar panel systems and improve their lives,” says Busch. “Apart from consultation, we also educate people about the value of using solar and ways in which it can benefit the environment.”

“One of the newest pieces of technology that we’re bringing to customers is the Tesla Solar Roof,” he adds. Many Homeowner Associations (HOAs) have prevented homeowners from installing solar. That comes from the early days of solar when panels were ugly and distracted from the beauty of the home. But with the Tesla Solar Roof, the solar cells are in the roof. They appear to be a form of premium roof material, except they generate solar power.

AES works closely with its clients to understand their solar requirements and learn about their power consumption habits. To that end, the firm records all the details about the clients’ power use, their utility provider, and the utility’s net metering practices for reimbursing solar power customers for the power they send to the grid.

Our goal is to help individual homeowners and businesses in the region make the best use of solar panel systems and improve their lives

A free AES proposal will recommend the size, position, brand, and quantity of solar panels, as well as the best utility rate plan that the client should be using in order to save the most money.

AES also offers a “Power Production Guarantee” in their contract that states how much energy the solar power system will generate. If the system doesn’t generate at least as much energy as predicted, AES will pay the client to cover the difference.

The Crowne Plaza hotel and conference center in Peachtree City approached AES to install a solar power system to save money and provide a “green” meeting facility. That system now provides 25 percent of the power used on the entire campus.

Besides traditional solar power systems and the new Tesla Solar Roof, AES also installs battery systems like the Tesla Powerwall and Powerpack. In many cases, customers of AES will choose to pair a battery with their PV Array for backup power, peak shaving, and or time-of-use rate arbitrage.

AES is also a responsible member of the community. AES donates a portion of its profits to charitable causes, participates in discounted “community buying” programs like Solarize Athens, and works with solar advocacy organizations to reform the rules for how utility companies treat their customers with solar power systems. Just last year, Montana and AES supported a successful effort to change utility regulations so that Georgia Power had to compensate their solar power customers more fairly.

“We think that 2021 will be a great year for solar and we’re keeping an eye on new technology, changes in tax laws and current COVID-19 guidelines so we can continue to provide exceptional solar installation services to our clients,” concludes Busch.
